Manchester United squad for Paris Saint-Germain fixture revealed as Victor Lindelof returns

Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford are both in the Manchester United squad ahead of the Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.

Sweden international Lindelof had missed the 3-0 win against Fulham at the weekend with a ‘slight niggle’ but is now in contention to return to the match day squad after he was pictured arriving at the team hotel on Monday night.

The 24-year-old has established himself as one of they key players at United this season and will be hoping to continue his fine European form having previously impressed against Juventus in the group stages.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also included England international Rashford in the provisional squad for the match after he was an unused substitute for the weekend win at Craven Cottage.

Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are also a part of the squad which met at the team hotel on Monday night ahead of the first-leg of the Champions League knockout tie, however there was no sign of Marcos Rojo or injured duo Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian.

Speaking to MUTV ahead of the clash Solskjaer confirmed Valencia and Darmian were the only two absentees ahead of the match.

“We are missing Antonio and Matteo they’re not available, so we have a big strong and healthy squad and with a big game coming up I have many to pick from,” Solskjaer said.

The Norwegian coach will be taking charge of his first European match as caretaker manager, and speaking at his pre-match press conference he backed his side to beat any team they face.

“The squad is very capable of winning against any opponents,” he said.

“When we go into games confident as we are, we are looking forward but we can’t look too far ahead. We have to look to PSG and make sure we go through this one and then take the next challenge as it comes.

“I said to the boys, ‘If we keep working every day in training, we can improve and maybe surprise a few’.”
